Step into the world of empowerment and celebration as Glade proudly hosts the “Make Africa Bloom – In My Era” campaign on International Women’s Day at the enchanting Ground The Venue in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg.
Guests were warmly welcomed by a vibrant purple carpet and an outdoor setting adorned with blooming colors and traditional outfits, creating an atmosphere of joy and empowerment.
Leading the event with grace and charisma was seasoned broadcaster, Hulisani Ravele. Reflecting on the campaign’s message, she shared, “It’s been exciting, it’s been so purposeful,” expressing her alignment with the idea of women owning their era and embracing their fullness.
The heart of the campaign beat with the diverse stories and journeys of women from all walks of life. Whether they were in their baddie era, soft girl era, boss lady era, or happy girl era, Glade celebrated every woman’s unique journey and contribution to the tapestry of Africa.
Lesego Segopolo, Marketing Director for SC Johnson, Africa Cluster, welcomed guests with a heartfelt commitment to empower and uplift women, emphasizing Glade’s dedication to lighting up paths that will Make Africa Bloom.
The Glade Entrepreneur Spotlight shone brightly on female entrepreneurs, showcasing their resilience and creativity in product-based businesses. These inspiring women shared their stories and offerings, inspiring attendees with their passion and drive.
The event also featured the Strategic Women Empowerment Panel, where distinguished figures like Zulaikha Patel, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, and Rashmi Vadivelu engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on women empowerment in the African context. From gender equality to institutional change, the panel explored crucial topics to drive progress.
Reflecting on Glade’s journey, 2023 marked the beginning of their commitment to female entrepreneurs through the launchpad program. In 2024, this commitment expanded with a partnership with Concord for Young Women in Business, solidifying Glade’s role in empowering women across rural communities.
