Johannesburg, South Africa (July 24, 2024): Get ready for some drama! The wait is over – the nominees for the prestigious 7th Royalty Soapie Awards (RSA’s) are being revealed live tonight on SABC 1 Mzansi Fo Sho at 6:00 PM.

The RSA’s are the only industry awards dedicated solely to South African daily TV dramas. They’re a celebration of the nation’s “TV drama royalty,” acknowledging the vital role storytelling plays in our lives.

Hosted by the award-winning Eric Macheru and Hellen Motsuki (both from Skeem Saam), the nominee announcement promises excitement and anticipation. The nominees represent the heart and soul of South African television – the actors, creatives, and technical teams who bring captivating stories to life on a daily basis.

This year’s awards recognize outstanding work from productions across the continent, submitted during a special extended eligibility period from August 2022 to August 2023. This ensures a wider range of talent is celebrated.

The RSA’s acknowledge excellence in all facets of television production. From performances in front of the camera to the magic worked behind the scenes – makeup, hairstyling, wardrobe, art direction, directing, editing, sound, lighting, casting, cinematography – all are considered.

The announcement will showcase nominees in key categories like Outstanding Lead Actor & Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor & Actress, and Outstanding Male & Female Villains.
