This groundbreaking event aims to honor some of the most influential local women from diverse backgrounds and industries.
The Walk Your Worth initiative follows the recent launch of Talk Your Worth, L’Oréal Paris’s locally produced podcast dedicated to fostering meaningful discussions surrounding self-worth, self-empowerment, and self-acceptance. Additionally, it coincides with the appointment of acclaimed actress Thuso Mbedu as the first L’Oréal Paris spokesperson for sub-Saharan Africa.

Celebrating the essence of women’s empowerment, L’Oréal Paris seeks to pay tribute to the strength and resilience of women globally. Attendees can expect to witness renowned figures such as Bonang Matheba, Miss SA Natasha Joubert, Thembi Seete, and many others grace the runway in this empowering showcase.
L’Oréal Paris has collaborated with Biji La Maison de Couture for Walk Your Worth, with the renowned fashion house crafting unique designs for this special event. “Having devoted myself to the art of fashion for three decades, I am thrilled to partner with L’Oréal Paris and SA Fashion Week to bring Walk Your Worth to life,” expresses Biji Gibbs. “Each garment is crafted to enhance the beauty of those who wear it, and I eagerly anticipate seeing our models walk their worth on the runway this April.”
Ayanda Mackay, Marketing Manager for L’Oréal Paris, affirms the brand’s commitment to women’s empowerment, stating, “As a feminine and feminist brand, we continue to champion women’s empowerment and are excited to showcase such influential women on the L’Oréal Paris runway. This event represents one of many initiatives that underscore L’Oréal’s dedication to inclusivity and empowerment.”
Lucilla Booyzen, Director of SA Fashion Week, reflects on the significance of the partnership between SA Fashion Week and L’Oréal Paris, emphasizing the value of diversity in the fashion industry. “The beauty of diversity is a fundamental principle of South African Fashion Week,” Booyzen asserts. “This aligns perfectly with the ethos of the L’Oréal Paris Walk Your Worth, which promotes mindful luxury and inclusivity in fashion culture.”
This groundbreaking event is poised to make a profound impact on the local fashion landscape, amplifying the message of women’s strength and celebrating beauty in all its forms.
