SA Fashion Week’s #CRUZSAFW 2024 kicked off at Langhams Lifestyle Estate in Johannesburg, marking the opening of SA Fashion Week 2024.The #CRUZSAFW is an exclusive only by invitation extravagant affair and this year’s Theme was “New York Nights with a Touch of Floral. The event promised a captivating blend of high fashion culture and vibrant aesthetics.

As the media gathered on the red carpet, a diverse ensemble of celebrities, influencers, fashionistas, and socialites stepped into the spotlight, each presenting their unique take on the theme. With an array of bold prints and BLINGBLING embellishments, attendees made striking fashion statements that embodied the spirit of New York nights.

While the event exuded glamour, there were moments of both brilliance and confusion as guests navigated the New York-inspired theme. Nevertheless, stylists like Phupho Gumede and fashion designer Zama Swazi elevated the event with their artistic interpretations, incorporating floral elements into their creations.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by SA’s biggest Amapiano DJ duo TXC and hip-hop megastar Maglera Doe Boy, alongside DJs TenOceans, Rarri, and Tyler ICU, adding to the electrifying atmosphere.

“The energy last night was electric,” remarked Cruz Vodka Brand Manager Maisha Mamabolo, emphasizing the convergence of creativity and culture. Notable fashion designers and celebrities, including Hangwani Nengovhela, Ephraim Molingoana, and Angela Sithole, graced the event, adding to its allure.

Fashion designers Hangwani Nengovhela (Rubicon), Ephraim Molingoana (Ephymol), Sello Medupe (Scalo), Craig Jacobs (Fundudzi), Msukizi Mbane (Imprint) and Lele Dhlamini (Ezoketho) not only graced the event showcasing their talent in their own attire but also dressed many of the red carpet guests last night.

Couples like Kay Sibiya and Judie Kama, as well as reality TV stars from Housewives of Johannesburg, brought their unique charm to the event. SA Fashion Week’s #CRUZSAFW 2024 was not merely a showcase of fashion but a celebration of creativity, culture, and the vibrant spirit of South African style.

SA Fashion Week runway shows kick off tonight until Saturday 18th April, with three days of incredible South African fashion being showcased to not only an eager SA audience but fashion enthusiasts from around the world at the Mall of Africa.
