QUEEN MODJADJI PREMIERES WITH ROYAL FLAIR, CELEBRATING AFRICAN CULTURE – Fashion Force Africa Magazine

The long-awaited drama series “Queen Modjadji” had a premiere fit for royalty last night! The cast, Balobedu royal family members, and South Africa’s entertainment elite gathered at the MonteCasino for a night steeped in cultural celebration.

Transformed into a traditional Balobedu village, the MonteCasino provided an immersive experience. Guests were treated to a vibrant “Brown Carpet” arrival, where celebrities like Lindani Nkosi, Ayanda Borotho, and Nomzamo Mbatha showcased their finest African-inspired couture.

Following a networking session featuring authentic Balobedu cuisine, the evening unfolded with lively performances, speeches by industry leaders, and a special pre-screening of the first episode. Duma Ndlovu, executive producer from Rhythm World Productions, introduced the episode, emphasizing the series’ significance for South Africa and the African continent.

Nomsa Philiso, CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice, addressed the company’s commitment to showcasing diverse stories. “We’re incredibly proud to bring Queen Modjadji’s story to life,” she declared. “This groundbreaking series not only celebrates our rich cultural heritage but also ensures the continent hears the voices of the Balobedu people.” Philiso emphasized the series’ international reach, premiering not only in South Africa but also in Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, and several other African countries.

Duma Ndlovu highlighted the production’s commitment to authenticity. “African stories have often been misrepresented,” he said. “We ensured local artisans crafted the artifacts and indigenous items, leaving a positive impact on the Balobedu community.”
